Northeast College Preparatory High School at Douglass Campus offers students a rigorous liberal arts curriculum with an emphasis on Mathematics, Science and Technology. This bench celebrates one of literature's greatest works, "The Color Purple", Alice Walker's Pulitzer Prize-winning novel.

Art teachers Kim Levitt and Katie Breedy, and Northeast seniors Tajmon Torres, Shi’asia Kelly, Quentin Pedraza and Santos Montalvo, worked together to create "Purple".
